Riziki Nature Based Solutions

Riziki Nature Based Solutions Ltd is a Kenyan environmental company that removes invasive Prosopis juliflora, known locally as mathenge, from farmland and converts the biomass into products. Its destumping method takes out the whole plant so it cannot regrow, and the woody material is processed into mesquite-based fuel and biochar, a charcoal-like soil amendment used for land restoration and carbon storage. The company sells into Kenya and the Gulf Cooperation Council markets.

In January 2026 Riziki signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) covering invasive-species management, capacity building, research, knowledge exchange and resource mobilisation. KEFRI's director general described the company as helping farmers uproot mathenge from their land.

In October 2026 Riziki was one of 22 startups selected for continued support in SANAD ElevateHer, a programme run by Seedstars and funded by the SANAD Fund for MSME that backs women-led businesses and companies that increase women's participation. It pitched at Techne Summit Alexandria on 3 October and will receive coaching, business development and investment-readiness support. Founders and founding year have not been published.
