About HakiChain

HakiChain is a Kenyan legal technology platform that gives lawyers, law firms, legal-aid programmes and organisations a set of AI tools built around African law. HakiLens provides sourced legal research, HakiDraft generates documents, HakiReview analyses clauses and documents, HakiReminders tracks deadlines, and HakiDocs keeps document versions with integrity records. A shared workspace ties these together for matter management, and an authenticated integration lets customers connect their own data.

The project began as a blockchain-based access-to-justice concept, with smart contracts for legal-aid bounties, escrow and reputation deployed on the Lisk Sepolia testnet and an assistant called HakiBot during a Tech Fairness Hackathon led by Mercy Wairimu. It has since developed into an AI-first product for legal professionals. Founders, founding year and head office have not been formally disclosed, though site metadata points to Kenya.

In October 2026 HakiChain was named one of the startups pitching at the inaugural AI Academy Kenya Pitchathon in Nairobi, hosted by Meta and the accelerator This Is Digital, where two winners receive US$5,000 in equity-free funding, Meta advertising credits and a slot at Meta's Regional AI Summit in Istanbul in November 2026.
