About Watobe

Watobe is a Cape Town edtech company that ran large online classrooms, where one qualified teacher taught hundreds of learners at a time as an affordable answer to teacher shortages. Its focus was mathematics for high school learners in South Africa.

Watobe stopped offering live lessons and shut down in 2023, and now makes its library free: more than 1,000 maths videos and over 500 quizzes for grades 7 to 12, with exam preparation for each grade. Its former teachers have started a new project called MathsLive. Watobe is listed in the Injini EdTech catalogue.
