About Tausi App
Tausi App is a Nairobi beauty-tech platform that matches clients with nearby freelance beauticians for at-home or walk-in services, and gives beauticians an AI-powered operating system with booking links, scheduling and business-management tools, plus physical 'Tausi Booth' mini-salons. Beauticians are trained through partnerships with more than 150 beauty colleges and unlock perks such as product discounts, loans, insurance and digital payments by meeting performance targets; the company reports about 6,000 verified beauticians, 32,000 active users and 30,000 bookings, earning revenue from booking commissions and SaaS subscriptions. Launched in 2021 by Amos Kimani, Wathua Kariuki and Leonard Macharia, it was selected for Cohort 4 of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship run by iHub in the girls-and-young-women skills track.
