About Shift

Shift is a hub for independent driving instructors and schools in South Africa and the learners preparing for the K53 test. Learners start with an expert-led video curriculum for the learner's permit, then request on-the-road lessons from licensed instructors, and finish with mock assessments.

Every instructor on the platform is a licensed professional specialising in K53 standards, and professionals join to find learners. Its LinkedIn page adds business tools for driving schools. Shift is based in Sandton, South Africa, and was founded in 2026.
