About SHENGO
SHENGO is an Addis Ababa-based civic technology platform for structured, AI-assisted policy consultation. It helps governments consult the people their policies affect, giving each rural expert, civil society group or citizen with a phone a verified record that their input was part of the decision.
The platform is designed for governments, donors, civil society, citizens and researchers, and is in a testing phase in Ethiopia in 2026. It was incubated at Addis Ababa University and in Cohort 01 of the timbuktoo UniPods AI Innovation Programme, a UNDP program for African AI innovators. Its website is available in English, Amharic and Afaan Oromoo.
