About LiquidGold Africa
LiquidGold Africa is a Johannesburg-based circular economy company. It began with dry sanitation solutions, including a waterless urinal with nutrient recovery for public and private organisations, and today runs an insect-powered platform that transforms organic waste into protein, oil and fertiliser through black soldier fly bioconversion, with ESG traceability for businesses, municipalities and communities. The company reports more than 42,000 tonnes diverted from landfill, 8,500 kg of protein and 12,000 tonnes of frass fertiliser produced, and over 320 green jobs.
LiquidGold was founded in 2018 and employs between 11 and 50 people. It took part in the 2019 Johannesburg cohort of the Grindstone Accelerator.
