About Kacha
Kacha Digital Financial Services is a licensed payment instrument issuer in Ethiopia and describes itself as the first private company to hold that licence from the National Bank of Ethiopia. It offers the Kacha Wallet, payments and transactions, remittance services, digital insurance, a credit scoring engine and an interest-free banking (IFB) wallet and financing product, with API documentation for business partners. Its platforms are designed to promote financial inclusion across Ethiopia.
Kacha was founded in 2022 and operates from Noah Plaza on Airport Road in Addis Ababa. It took part in Cohort 3 (2024) of the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator.
