About Boleka Africa

Boleka Africa is a South African fintech that digitises the stokvel, the informal savings group used by millions of South Africans. Its platform lets members form rotating or longer-term savings groups, lend to one another through community and peer-to-peer pools, and pay for prepaid airtime, data and electricity from a shared wallet. The company describes itself as a community-powered digital lending platform that brings trust, access and affordability to people the formal banking system underserves.
