About Aurora Health Systems

Aurora Health Systems is a Kenyan health technology startup founded by medical doctor Alice Muhuhu to develop medical technologies for healthcare delivery in Africa. Its product, MoyoECG, is a portable, wearable multi-lead electrocardiogram platform with embedded artificial intelligence that helps frontline healthcare workers in rural and lower-tier facilities screen patients for arrhythmias and other cardiac conditions and make timely referrals, including where internet connectivity or mains electricity is unreliable. Pilots reported interpretation time falling from around 30 minutes to under five. MoyoECG was named a winner of Qualcomm's Make in Africa programme and was selected as a finalist for the 2026 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation.
