About Volta

Volta Technologies is a Johannesburg-based company building stablecoin payment infrastructure for African businesses. It aims to settle trade payments across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in seconds for less than 1%, replacing correspondent banking rails that it says take around seven days and cost about 9%.

The product is built natively on the Stellar network. At the time of collection Volta was operating in stealth mode, with a public reveal planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 and an early access list open to interested businesses that want to be notified at launch. Its focus is cross-border trade between businesses within the SADC region.
