About Uzuri K&Y

Uzuri K&Y is an African inspired eco-friendly footwear brand established in Rwanda since 2013 with a mission to craft viable solutions using steady tech and soft skills to educate vulnerable urban communities on ways and techniques to recycle wastes especially old ca. We aim to create entrepreneurship opportunities among the youths with a focal point on women. Within 7 years we have made a direct impact on over 1060 people through skills and employment in Rwanda among which 70% are women. In 2018 UZURI was awarded the best Made in Rwanda enterprise of the year and in 2019 we are among top 10 companies creating change across Africa. Through establishment of retail spaces and ecommerce we are able to reach customers across the world by offering authentic and socially responsible brand of shoes created locally with a reusable outsole made of recycled car tyre. Even amid COVID-19 we are still holding on to our company values of education, innovation and sustainability.
