Ysolde Shimwe is a co-founder of Uzuri K&Y, a Rwandan eco-footwear brand founded in Kigali in 2013, where she served as creative director. She met co-founder Kevine Kagirimpundu while studying at the University of Rwanda's College of Science and Technology in 2011, and helped design the company's first handcrafted shoes built around an African design identity.
