About SwissPay
SwissPay is a Lagos-based payments platform built for Nigeria's traders, transporters and unbanked population. Users pay and collect money by tapping a phone, wearable or NFC Android device, and the system processes transactions online when internet is available and switches to an offline mode when it is not.
The free app targets bus parks, market stalls and transfers across town. SwissPay is operated under VFD Microfinance Bank and aligned with the Central Bank of Nigeria's cashless policy. It has been piloted in three Lagos transport parks, Oshodi, Yaba and Ikeja, including areas with poor or no network coverage.
