About Ororo Waste
Ororo Waste Management Limited, founded in 2021 and based in Ikeja, Lagos, collects used cooking oil from restaurants, hotels, food processors and commercial kitchens and aggregates it into ISCC-certified feedstock for biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel producers under offtake agreements. It pays a network of about 5,000 informal collectors through mobile money on the day they deliver, tracks volumes with GPS and QR codes, and runs collection hubs in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Nigeria generates an estimated 840,000 tonnes of used cooking oil a year, over 95% of it uncaptured; Ororo aims for 40+ hubs and 150,000+ tonnes of certified annual collection by 2031, backed by a 2026 corporate note of up to NGN 1.4bn from Rising Tide Africa.
