About Lobana

Lobana is a Nairobi-based company building what it calls Africa's first AI-powered children's language and family management platform. Its name combines "loba" (speak) and "na" (with), meaning "speak together". It argues that most children's pronunciation tools are designed around Western accents.

In the Lobana app, children learn and play in Swahili and English with voices that sound like home, through features such as Safari ya Sauti. Parents manage household tasks and goals in one place, and a Memory Book records each week of a child's life. The app was scheduled to launch on Google Play on 19 October, with published pricing and partners.
