Ivorypay

Ivorypay is a crypto and stablecoin payment infrastructure company built for Africa. Its gateway lets businesses accept stablecoin and cryptocurrency payments through QR codes, payment links and checkout buttons, and settle in local currency through bank accounts and mobile money. Additional products include on- and off-ramps, wallet and treasury tools, x402 machine-to-machine payments and Duffle, a consumer product. Customers include fintechs, marketplaces, gaming platforms, remittance apps, payroll providers and NGOs moving aid funds.

The company was founded in 2022 and is led by co-founder and CEO Oluwatobi Ajayi, with offices in Lagos and Johannesburg. It launched to merchants in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa and by mid-2026 reported more than US$500 million in cumulative payment volume, over 16,000 merchants and a presence in 17 African countries, figures that are company-reported.

Ivorypay joined Crypto Valley VC's accelerator in April 2023, which included capital funding, and received a strategic investment from Hedera in March 2025, at which point it reported US$80 million processed and 8,000 merchants. Other backers named include Starkware and Blockchain Founders Fund. In June 2026 it launched x402 payments, and in October 2026 it joined the sixth cohort of Visa's fintech programme with Plug and Play.
