About Green Flare

Green Flare (Green Flare Holdings) is a Nigerian company that captures natural gas that would otherwise be flared during oil production and uses it to generate off-grid electricity for modular data centres located at flare sites. Its initial focus is Bitcoin mining, with stated plans to expand into AI computing and high-performance data processing. In May 2025, together with Dawcon Energy (an awardee under the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme), it signed a Gas Connection Agreement with the OML 30 Joint Venture for three flare sites in Delta State (Afesiere, Eriemu and Kokori), which the company described as Nigeria's first flare gas-powered Bitcoin mining project, with a planned combined capacity of 53 MW. The project also includes plans to electrify host communities.
