Energy Assured Nigeria

Energy Assured Nigeria Limited supplies solar-powered productive-use equipment to smallholder farmers, agro-processors and cooperatives in northern Nigeria. Its core offer is cluster irrigation-as-a-service: groups of five to eleven farmers share a mobile solar water pump for the season and pay a flat fee of about $56 per cluster per month, roughly $9 per farmer, with the option to settle by selling produce to linked buyers. It also sells and rents solar dryers for post-harvest preservation and distributes solar home systems and clean cookstoves.

The company is headquartered in Azare, Bauchi State, and operates in Bauchi and Adamawa, with expansion planned into Taraba, Jigawa and Gombe. It reports more than 20,000 farmers served, 95 percent of them accessing solar irrigation for the first time, and over 45,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided.

Energy Assured was founded by Ibrahim Aboki, who serves as CEO. It received a $100,000 USAID East Africa Trade and Investment Hub grant in 2021. In January 2026 Acumen invested through its Pioneer Energy Investment Initiative (PEII+) in a preferred-equity deal disbursed in two tranches; the amount was not disclosed.
