Clinify

Clinify is a health-technology company that applies agentic AI to health-insurance claims processing. Its platform helps hospitals and clinics submit claims, flags missing information before submission, and tracks each claim through approval to payout, with the aim of cutting the paperwork and delays that sit between Nigerian providers and HMOs. The company describes itself as Africa's first agentic AI platform for end-to-end claims processing and automated payouts.

Clinify was founded in 2020 by Michael Omidele, a Nigerian who previously worked in health technology at IBM and Alberta Health Services and who built the company after a family member died following a medical-records mix-up in Nigeria. It is incorporated in Calgary, Canada, and began rolling out in Nigeria in late 2022 as an electronic medical records, billing, insurance and telehealth platform, reporting deployments with more than 10 insurers, 130 providers and 12,000 patients by early 2023. The claims-automation focus is its current product direction.

The company raised a CAD 100,000 pre-seed in 2021 and a CAD 2 million seed in February 2023 led by Thin Air Labs with HaloHealth. It won the Lagos leg of the GITEX Africa Startup Roadshow in February 2024 and in October 2026 joined the sixth cohort of Visa's fintech programme run with Plug and Play.
