About ATAS

ATAS is a Rwandan artificial intelligence research and development company. It builds original AI infrastructure designed to understand Kinyarwanda, Rwandan geography and local context, rather than translating foreign models.

Its first system, IMIZI, is a contextual intelligence model trained on Kinyarwanda language and local data, and the company works on natural language processing, voice and vision AI. ATAS publishes research, works with partners and aims to turn its research into everyday products. It is based in Kigali and has a team of two to ten people.
