Anvaya Legal AI

Anvaya Legal AI is a South African software company whose platform brings legal research, document review, drafting and matter management into one AI-assisted workspace. Users upload contracts, pleadings and policies; the system analyses them against South African case law and legislation and returns summaries, clause-level reviews, arguments and draft documents, with drafting available inside Microsoft Word. It is sold on a subscription basis.

The product targets litigation, commercial, conveyancing and corporate lawyers as well as small businesses that need legal documents without a full legal team. Anvaya is based in Gauteng.

The company was founded in 2024 by Lynton Naicker and Ranvir Mohanial, with backing from Clive Butkow of Conducive Capital. In July 2026 it won the South African round of the Startup World Cup, earning a place at the global final in San Francisco in November 2026, and in October 2026 it was selected for the 15-company 2026 cohort of the Google for Startups Accelerator: South Africa, which offers up to R1 million in equity-free funding and ends with a December demo day.
