About Umoja Labs

Umoja Labs builds blockchain-based payment services for East Africa. Its tools let aid organisations and lenders send cash transfers and conditional loans to recipients and track how funds are used, with analytics for aid programmes. Programmes can set conditions on how money is released and then monitor results through the platform's reporting, giving funders a clearer view of where each transfer ends up and how it is spent.

Umoja Labs is headquartered in Dar es Salaam and was founded in 2020. It took part in the Norrsken Impact Accelerator in 2022.
