About Tanel

Tanel (Tanel Health) is a Dakar-based digital health company launched in 2021 by Mouhamed Ndoye and Makhtar Diop. It provides digital tools for businesses to manage employee health coverage (including outsourced IPM and mutuelle schemes) while giving employees and individuals simpler access to care and visibility over their coverage. Operating in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire, it reported covering about 70,000 lives across more than 400 companies with a network of over 1,200 pharmacies and healthcare providers. French insurer Alan, which invested in Tanel's 2024 seed round, announced on 2 September 2026 that it had finalised its acquisition of Tanel.
