About Slash

Slash runs Slash Deals, an app and website that aggregates promotions, clearance offers and store flyers from retailers across Botswana. Shoppers search and filter offers, compare prices across stores, save deals, build shopping lists and get alerts when new promotions go live near them. Retailers, restaurants and FMCG brands use a 24-hour self-service panel to publish offers and track how customers respond, and distributors can list surplus or near-expiry stock.

The service is free for both shoppers and retailers. The company, trading through Innov8tech (Pty) Ltd, launched in April 2021 during COVID-19 lockdowns as a way for retailers to cut flyer printing and for shoppers to browse deals without visiting stores. By early 2022 it listed more than 100 stores including Choppies and Woolworths; by October 2026 it reported about 55,000 downloads and over 3,400 active users, with Namibian distributors showing interest as a next market.

In October 2026 Slash was named in the first accelerator cohort of the Botswana Tech Fund, which invests up to £100,000 per startup for around 10% equity over a three-month hybrid programme in Gaborone. The company was self-funded before this.
