P-Vita

P-Vita is a Cairo-based biotechnology company that turns agricultural waste into bio-based raw materials. Using processes it describes as patented, including algae-based conversion, it produces natural ingredients that can replace petrochemical inputs in cosmetics, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical products. The company sells these materials to manufacturers and is pursuing licensing, distribution and co-development partnerships, with plans to build its own production facility.

P-Vita operates from Dokki in Cairo and lists a second office in Dubai's DIFC. It was bootstrapped by its founders and used competition grants to equip a small laboratory, then opened a first external fundraising round in 2024. A pilot with PepsiCo to produce food-and-beverage raw materials was planned after P-Vita joined the inaugural Mega Green Accelerator run by PepsiCo and SABIC in 2024.

Co-founder Mohamed Tarek leads a team of about ten people. Recognition includes the Environment Challenge at Ericsson's Hack for Earth 2023, second place in the 2023 Underdog Tech Award, selection in the 2024 UNICEF Youth Challenge, and in September 2026 a national win in Orange Egypt's Orange Social Venture Prize, qualifying for the international final.
