About GardPath Technologies
GardPath Technologies is a Ghanaian animal-health startup developing rapid diagnostic test kits for livestock diseases. Its initial targets are Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) and Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), two conditions that cause heavy losses among small and large ruminants in West Africa. The kits use a simple lateral-flow format that needs minimal training and no laboratory equipment, so farmers, veterinarians and animal-health authorities can test animals in the field and act before an outbreak spreads.
The company was founded in 2024 and is based in Tamale in Ghana's Northern Region, a major livestock-producing area. It works with research institutions and laboratories in Ghana on validation. Its leadership team comprises Hussein Abukari Adams as chief executive officer, Abdul Karim Shamsia Titiaka as chief marketing officer, Dr Alhassan Abukari Sadik as chief finance officer and Christopher Yennukwa Sajuat as chief production officer.
GardPath joined Standard Chartered's Futuremakers Women in Tech accelerator in July 2025, receiving in-kind support. In October 2026 it was one of 22 startups selected for further support by the SANAD ElevateHer programme delivered by Seedstars, following a pitch event at Techne Summit Alexandria. The product remains at an early, pre-commercial stage.
