eMaisha Pay

eMaisha Pay is a Kampala-based agri-fintech that gives agro-exporters and traders the tools to onboard suppliers, digitise payments, track produce and unlock purchase-order financing backed by their own trade data. Its pitch is to build digital collateral rather than physical collateral: transaction and inventory records generated on the platform become the basis for credit. Earlier products include the eMaisha Verve card, launched with Interswitch in March 2024, which lets agro-dealers and smallholder farmers pay for inputs, access credit and save.

The company serves agribusiness MSMEs, exporters, agro-input wholesalers and retailers, and the farmers in their value chains, and earns revenue from payments and financing. Founded in 2021 by co-founder and CEO Sserubiri Uhuru, it had around 17 employees by 2026.

eMaisha Pay has passed through several programmes, including Catapult: Inclusion Africa, the AWS Fintech Africa Accelerator, SAIS and the Baobab Network, with backers including Hustle Fund and COREangels MEA. In 2026 it was Uganda's representative in Class 10 of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, which ran from March to June and ended with a Demo Day in Nairobi.
