About Blu EV

Blu EV is an e-mobility platform for light electric vehicles. Riders subscribe to swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones at its battery swapping units (BSUs), and the Blu EV app offers navigation, swaps, financing, insurance and other value-added services. The company says it has passed 2 million battery swaps, runs 320 BSUs in 16 cities across Egypt and Morocco, and publishes a platform footprint of 55 million+ km ridden. Founded in March 2022 in Egypt according to EnterpriseAM; Orascom Investment Holding, chaired by Naguib Sawiris, became a strategic investor in May 2023 (amount undisclosed).
