Bonga L.D. Mokoena

I am a qualified CA (SA) and member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. I hold a B. Comm (Wits), Hons B. Compt/CTA (Unisa), Masters in Business Leadership (MBL, UNISA). I am also a member of the Institute of Directors and Black Management Forum. I joined Alexander Forbes Financial Services (AFFS) in December 2009 as the Head: Institutional Cluster which included amongst others Alexander Forbes’ Retirement Funds Administration Services, Trust & Beneficiary Funds Services, Employee Benefits Consultants & Actuaries, Umbrella Funds Services & Asset Consultants. In 2012, I was promoted to the role of Managing Director/Executive responsible for various Institutional Consulting businesses and Public Sector Divisions within AFFS. I served as the member of the Executive Committee of AFFS Holdings (Pty) Ltd. Effective 1 April 2017, I have been appointed as the Managing Executive: Group Public Sector Division which plays a role in strategically enabling and supporting the Alexander Forbes Group's 2022 vision and business growth initiatives in Institutional, Retail and Emerging Markets cluster of businesses in collaboration with AF Group's strategic partners, Mercer and African Rainbow Capital. In this new group role, I serve as the member of Executive Committees of the above mentioned cluster of businesses. Previously, I held positions as Chief Executive/Principal Officer of Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, various senior/executive positions at Nedbank, Transnet and Old Mutual SA. I serve as a member of the Board Of Trustees of the Pension & Provident Sections of the Alexander Forbes Retirement, Preservation, Unclaimed Benefit Funds & Hotazel Manganese Mines Education Trust (BHP Billiton/South 32 Mines). I served in Non Executive Director Roles of Principal officers Association, Advisory Committee of the SA Pension Funds Investment Forum, Alexander Forbes Compensation Technologies (Pty) Ltd and the member of the SARS Advisory Board/Panel.
