Zanele Abraham Matome is a South African entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of Welo Health, a HealthTech startup launched in 2020 that revolutionizes healthcare access across South Africa and the SADC region through home medicine delivery, home labs, and home healthcare services. With over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience spanning construction, mining, and healthcare technology sectors, she has built a platform bridging technology and human care. After dropping out of university at 21, she founded a civil construction company, later establishing Basadi Underground Contractors, a mining support services company. Following business setbacks, she traveled to Silicon Valley to pursue her tech startup vision. Today, Welo Health has secured funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and serves clients including major medical aid companies, SANParks, Hitachi, and mining companies. She also founded Innov8 NGO, providing math education to rural schools in South Africa and Tanzania.
