William Marais

William Marais is an attorney, notary, and conveyancer with extensive experience in corporate finance. He joined the founding team of Boland Financial Services (now Mettle Investments) in 1995. After a partnership at Jan S de Villiers and Son (1996-1999) advising clients including Naspers, Pepkor, and Stellenbosch Farmers Winery, he served as Director of Corporate Finance at PwC. He was Business Development Director at M-Web Limited (2000) and headed its eMedia Division (2001-2002), contributing to Computicket's turnaround. In 2002, he joined Pointbreak to establish and lead its corporate finance business. Following Tradehold Limited's acquisition in September 2014, the business became Mettle Corporate Finance, which William continues to lead as CEO. He is an authorised financial services provider and completed the JSE's Sponsor Development Programme in 2017.
