Walid Hassouna

Walid Hassouna is the Founder and CEO of valU, Egypt's first Buy-Now Pay-Later (BNPL) fintech platform in the Middle East. He serves as Chairman of Paytabs Egypt and Vice Chairman of EFG EV Fintech, and sits on multiple boards including KarmSolar and Robinson College of Business. With over 22 years of experience spanning banking and non-bank financial institutions, he previously led EFG Hermes' NBFI platform and Debt Capital Markets activities. His expertise encompasses structured finance, project finance, investment banking, M&As, and syndicated loans. He has closed transactions exceeding USD 15 billion and topped MENA league tables in syndicated loans.
