
Uzo is CTO & Co-founder of Releaf - Releaf develops low cost pre-processing machines/systems to increase the quality and availability of raw materials delivered to African food factories. Starting with the Nigerian vegetable oil market. Releaf is on a mission to industrialize food processing to create shared prosperity across the continent. Uzo founded Releaf with two other Nigerian-Americans after they pushed off jobs at Bain, Facebook & Microsoft. Among Releaf’s investors is Y Combinator. Uzo graduated from Duke with a degree in Mechanical engineering in 2017 and spent 3 years serving on Duke’s Board of Trustees (2Y as a full voting member, 1Y as an observer). He was elected by a majority of his peers to provide a younger perspective aiding in overseeing the overall strategy of the University. While at Duke he led engineering impact projects in Brazil & Togo, studied abroad in China, carried out drone research on autonomous medical delivery & interned as a systems engineer @ GE Aviation. Uzo also had the pleasure and honor of serving as class president and delivering his engineering classes degree speech.
