Tao Laine Boyle

Tao Laine Boyle is Co-Founder and COO of FoondaMate, a WhatsApp-based education platform that democratizes learning for students in developing countries with limited internet access. The platform has grown from 40,000 to over 4 million users across 180 countries since its founding in 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy (with distinction in Philosophy) and an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town. Before founding FoondaMate, she gained 4+ years of tutoring experience and worked in research and data analysis. Tao is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe honoree (2025), AWIEF Young Entrepreneur Award winner (2021), Inspiring 50 South Africa winner (2020), and Transcend F20 Fellow. Currently based in Dublin, Ireland.
