Biography

Simon Hazell is a South African entrepreneur and circular economy pioneer. He co-founded Inseco in 2018, an insect protein company that converts organic by-products into sustainable feed ingredients. Under his leadership, Inseco raised $5.3 million in 2022 and won multiple awards including the 2019 GCIP global winner. He holds a Bachelor's in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town. In 2025, he became CEO of Bioshroom, a functional mushroom producer, leveraging his background in biotechnological manufacturing.
