
Ravi Sood is a Canadian financier, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur based in Hong Kong. Born in 1976 in Waterloo, Ontario, he earned a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Waterloo at age 16. He co-founded and served as CEO of Navina Asset Management, managing over $800 million in assets before its acquisition in 2010. Sood has founded ventures across mining, renewable energy, agriculture, and financial services in emerging markets spanning four continents. He currently serves as Chairman and Co-Founder of Abraxas Power and Golconda Gold, Managing Director of Signal 8 Limited, and holds board positions at Elemental Altus Royalties, Biomind Labs, and Sparq Systems. Previously founded Feronia Inc., Buchanan Renewables, and Jade Power Trust. He is a regular media commentator on global markets and was a frequent co-host of BNN's "Squeeze Play." Descartes Fellow and Canada Scholar in Technology.
