
David Opio is a Ugandan entrepreneur who built to scale Ensibuuko, a fintech provider of solutions to the village banking sector in Uganda. He's the lead of gnuGrid - a clean-tech startup. gnuGrid adds remote sensors to PayGo to empower Solar Providers to optimize their customer service. He holds a degree in quantitative economics (majored in finance) with honours from Makerere University – a top Ugandan University and has spoken at international conferences on the need for locally grown solutions. He is a self-taught software engineer, electrical engineer and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering. He is self-driven, inventor, pro-active and with vigour to create disruptive solutions to solve the world’s pressing challenges. He lives in Kampala.
