Mwasi Wilmore

From an early age, Mwasi Wilmore saw the impact of organizations at the intersection of education and technology. Influenced by her parent’s computer training business, she set out on a path that would ultimately lead her to build and grow social impact organizations. Throughout her career, Mwasi has drawn upon her multinational experiences at Deloitte to bring a sensitivity of operational excellence and world-class process to each role. The result has been the elevation of small and medium-sized African-led organization to align with international standards and stretching performance beyond previously accepted limits. Since April 2022, Mwasi has served as the CEO of ubongo—Africa’s leading provider of children’s edutainment. Among the strategic initiatives she is defining the strategy and operationalizing the team towards those goals. From 2017 to 2022, Mwasi served as a Principal of Africa Insight Advisors, an Africa-based boutique consulting and investment firm. Working with clients across industries, she developed market expansion and growth strategies. During this time, she also led Camara Education Tanzania as the CEO, transforming this NGO into a self-sustaining social impact enterprise with reach into new and larger-scale initiatives.
