My focus is on using business science to experiment with different solutions to improve the basic/natural human condition (especially for low-income communities). This started in 2009, with commercializing our DryBath® Gel as the global standard for waterless personal hygiene. This experience is being used to develop the experimental expertise for developing innovative products & processes that solve practical problems for society. While commercialising DryBath, we noticed that the biggest execution-challenge facing social-impact organizations (especially government), was having to compete for expensive & limited talent from tertiary institutions. This problem is made worse by the fact that 30-50% of the spend on tertiary education is resulting in non-graduating dropouts. We started Excel@Uni in 2013, providing an tech-enabled suite of robust wrap-around student-support-interventions that help tertiary colleges and student-funders to increase their on-time graduation rates, while also increasing their skills-based employability. We have a goal to halve dropout rates within the next 10 years. I also make myself available to audiences and organizations, to help them think about how to pursue socio-economically sustainable operations through a disciplined process of experimental business science. My entrepreneurial endeavors have afforded me the opportunity to continually develop my skills of effective communication, resource recruitment, and empathic relationship management. My obsession with psychology & philosophy has deepened my understanding of cogent strategy validation and solving for the basic human condition. My work is focused on modelling Headboy as a commercial technology innovation agency, with an intense focus on creating a pipeline of superior African talent. This talent will conduct unconventional business experiments that can produce measurable insights and sustainable growth for private and public benefit.
