Jamie Surkont

Jamie Surkont is a seasoned South African entrepreneur and business leader with over 25 years of experience spanning financial services, automotive technology, infrastructure, and scale-up coaching. He co-founded and served as CEO of getWorth (2016-2024), a pioneering FinTech and automotive platform that scaled from zero to R600 million in revenue, revolutionizing vehicle buying and selling through AI-based market pricing. He led the company through significant growth until Motus acquired majority stakes in 2021-2022. Jamie is also Co-Founder of Synapt Group (2016-present), specializing in building, fixing, and running companies. Currently, he works as a ScaleUp Coach at ScaleUp Company South Africa (2025-present). His career includes serving as CEO of Electronic Toll Collection (2013-2016), managing toll infrastructure projects valued up to R10 billion, Group Financial Manager at Smit Lamnalco (2001-2006), and Audit Manager at KPMG South Africa. Based in Cape Town, Jamie has managed businesses with up to 2,000 employees.
