Ismet Amod

Ismet Amod is a South African businessman with over 35 years of operational experience across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and medical devices. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and has completed various entrepreneurship business courses. After 7 years in engineering, he transitioned to business as managing director of a food ingredient company and later a medical devices manufacturing unit. In 2006, he co-founded and became Marketing Director and COO at Genius Biotherapeutics (formerly Bioclones), a biotechnology company focused on biopharmaceuticals. In 2008, he led the design, construction and commissioning of a GMP-compliant biopharmaceutical facility in Cape Town. Since 2012, he has served as CEO of Genius Biotherapeutics. He has held board positions at Siemens SA since 2007, AYO Technology Solutions, and Independent Media, among others.
