Herman Myburgh

Herman Myburgh is a Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Pretoria and Co-founder & Scientific Advisor of hearX Group, a medical technology company providing smartphone-based hearing test solutions used in over 25 countries. He heads the Advanced Sensor Networks research group and is Director of the Centre for Connected Intelligence at UP. With an NRF C2 rating, his research focuses on intelligent systems, machine learning, mHealth, wireless communications, signal processing, and agricultural technologies. He has co-invented numerous mobile healthcare patents that have been commercialized globally. He teaches digital communications and data security while supervising master's and PhD students. His work has been cited over 2,800 times with an h-index of 24.
