Heba Ashor

I am a presenter at the Egyptian State Radio, and a master’s degree holder from the American University in Cairo where I have empowered both academic knowledge and practical skills. I have produced various television stories and documentaries as well as written numerous academic papers. Regarding academic teaching, I am a lecturer on subjects such as mobile journalism, shooting, voice coaching, radio presenting, and scriptwriting at Al Azhar University. I am experienced in developing curriculum and educational material, and setting and grading assignments, tests, and exams. I pride myself on creating a classroom environment that accommodates the needs of my students while still promoting a high level of critical thought and needed skills. I also work in an international environment as a teacher and a research assistant at The American University in Cairo. I have extensive experience utilizing Moodle tools, in addition to producing educational materials of high quality, moderating, and delivering online/offline meetings and sessions, and solving any technical or academic problems facing students from various countries. As my master’s degree is a professional one, I have experience in conducting documentary research, from the pre- to post-production stages, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. I have produced many reports and documentaries as “a one-man show”. I have also acquired hands-on skills through more than 12 years of experience. I have worked as a broadcast journalist, a reporter, and a producer at many channels and companies. Now, I am a presenter at the Egyptian State Radio. As a result, I am adept at reading news, reports, and analyses, dealing with breaking stories, interviewing, and discussing different issues with officials and experts on air. I have the ability to report from the field for radio and television, interpret complex stories for a non-specialist audience, prepare scripts and interview questions, and manage relationships with official and nonofficial sources. Previous experiences I gained early in my life prove my unabated passion for learning. It also proves that I have the potential to acquire different expertise, work under pressure, adapt to new work environments quickly and gain knowledge to undertake assigned tasks as required.
