Gert van Wyk

Gert van Wyk is the Founder and CEO of BioCertica, a precision-health biotechnology company founded in October 2019 that combines advanced genetic testing with encryption technology to create Africa's first digital biobank. Prior to founding BioCertica, he spent over 15 years in financial services, including serving as Hedge Fund Manager at Sanlam Investments (2015-2019) where he managed a commodity hedge fund, and various roles at Senwes (2009-2015) including General Manager of Senwes Grain Brokerage, CRO, and commodity trader. He also worked at HSBC and Bank of New York in London (2004-2006) in foreign exchange departments. Van Wyk holds an M.Com. in Risk Management from North-West University and has led BioCertica's expansion from South Africa into international markets including the UAE, Turkey, and Europe.
