Gatumi is an entrepreneur with over 7 years experience leading, managing and working in teams in healthcare, hospitality and technology. His passion for leveraging technology to improve impact has led him to work in healthcare, tech and investment banking to better understand how to build better companies with greater impact. He has a passion for youth involvement in leadership and technology hence co-founding 54gene, a Y Combinator funded African genomics company. After founding 54gene and leading the products team for a year, Gatumi founded Vendease, an electronic procurement and inventory management company for hotels and restaurants. Gatumi holds a first degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, USA where he was elected President Pro-tempore of the Student Senate (first for an international student). He then went on to medical school at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences leaving after 3 years to pursue healthcare with the potential for large scale impact. Gatumi is passionate about using technology to solve problems for Africa.
