Francois Swanepoel

I am the co-founder and CTO of Stone Three, an industrial IoT company that develops sustainable solutions for repeating problems in key global industries. When we founded the business, we wanted to bring the latest technology to the third stone from the sun, Earth (hence the name!) Today, I lead a team of engineers, software developers and innovators that develops solutions that go beyond the hype of new technologies to solve specific problems in the industrial value chain. My experience has taught me to listen closely to the market when building new technology: build for market needs, don't invest time in building features the market isn't interested in, and always test, question and convert your assumptions. I am excited about the potential for machine learning, cloud and the Industrial Internet of Things and its impact on key global industries in the maritime, mining, healthcare and communication sectors.
