Francois Retief

Francois Retief is a Principal Consultant and Systems Engineer with over 25 years of experience in complex technology systems. He began his career in 1998 working on GSM/GPS telemetry systems at RACAL (now Thales) and progressed through senior engineering roles at Astrata Systems and Mix Telematics. He is a founding member and COO of iono.fm, one of Africa's largest digital audio platforms providing podcasting, radio live-streaming, and audio advertising services. As an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) and former ambassador, he has trained over 3,000 participants worldwide and served as a guest lecturer at multiple universities. He holds a B.Eng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, where he was National President of IAESTE and Chairman of the Student Engineering Council. He is also a member of the IAB SA Digital Audio Committee.
