I never studied Project Management in college, but I can run a company with multiple stakeholders, several teams, and a growing portfolio. I never studied Augmented Reality in college, but I can tell you all the challenges it faces with today's hardware, and how it will shape up in the future. I never studied Education in college, but I can create a learning environment that engages the students actively, providing them with needed confidence and feeding their curiosity to learn about the world around them. I am still learning. And I love it.
