Currently Capital Eye is a small (<R1billion) Captive/on Balance Sheet technology investment portfolio that has seen capital appreciation that equates to in excess of 4x money back over the past 5 years. We are positioning our existing portfolio into two core groupings/categories viz, FinTech and Software and will be looking at strategic partnership and growth equity investors to participate in the respective themes towards an ultimate listing or trade sale. The focus remains on growth equity opportunities within Technology businesses or businesses dependent on technologies within these categories and within the Sub-Saharan African Emerging Market. Prior to that: Involved in acquisitive growth strategy for listed corporate post listing taking business from R200-million annual turnover and 200 employees in 2002 to R1.5-billion annual turnover and 2500 employees in 2007 in the technology / IT sector touching software, services and solutions companies from small private owner managed organisation to listed public entities.(Market Cap moved from circa R500m to >R1.7billion over this period) Listed entity CFO responsibilities from 2002 to 2009 simultaneously with acquisitive growth phase (incl. Financial reporting; internal controls and governance implementation; investor relations management) Deputy CEO of listed entity 2009 to 2011 during strategic investment realisation including separation of the software and services business and then appointed the CEO on the delisting of the UCS Group (renamed Capital Eye Investments Limited).
